Who loves the Christmas season always finds it delightful to visit the various Christmas markets: from Northern Italy to many countries in Northern Europe, the tradition continues to be deeply rooted and the initiative appreciated by visitors. It is no coincidence that there are really many of them, all to discover.
To treat yourself to some special days, here is an idea to consider: visiting the Dresden Christmas markets.
Dresden Christmas Markets
The Striezelmarkt, this is the name of the market held in this city, is undoubtedly noteworthy, if only because it is the oldest Christmas market in Germany.
It was indeed founded as early as 1474 and today it retains all its magic, seasoned with local tradition.
The Dresden Christmas market will be inaugurated on November 27, 2013, and can be visited until December 24, Christmas Eve.
The stalls will be open every day following the hours below:
from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, except on November 27 (4:00 PM – 9:00 PM), December 13 (10:00 AM – 11:00 PM), and December 24 (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM).

Many events will animate the entire city and particularly those visiting Dresden during the Feast of the Immaculate Conception period can take part in a party scheduled for December 7, entirely dedicated to the Stollen, the traditional Christmas cake of Dresden.
Dresden is a city that definitely deserves a visit, beyond the markets that enliven it during the Christmas season. To find out what to see in Dresden and what to do, we have created a guide to the German city with the main points of interest.
