It is in the Bryce Canyon National Park that the Pink Cliffs come to life, strange rock formations that have undergone some transformations over time and erosion. Their origin dates back over sixty million years.
To reach the heart of the Bryce Canyon park, in Utah (one of the western States of the United States), you can also come from the Grand Canyon, one of the most famous natural wonders.
Unlike its name, however, Bryce Canyon is not the result of a gorge in the rock formed by the relentless passage of river waters, as in the case of the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. Bryce Canyon is located at over 2700 meters altitude and is formed by some formations called hoodoos. The origins of Bryce Canyon are quite unique. It derives from the sedimentation of a prehistoric large lake that, over time, changed from six hundred meters deep to the current over two thousand seven hundred meters in elevation. An extraordinary event that, with the help of atmospheric components, gave rise to one of the most incredible and extraordinary natural spectacles.
