Being the city before unification the seat of offices and courts with jurisdiction over the entire province of Terra di Bari, many documents were gathered in the Archive.
However, due to space constraints, the archives do not contain the papers of the sacred royal audience, which was based there since 1586, the criminal court of the Napoleonic period, the grand criminal court and the grand civil court of the Restoration period, which are preserved in the AS Bari.
The Section still preserves and continues to receive the notarial acts of the district, the judicial acts of the magistrates of the district, and those of other local offices.
