Over the decades, the Abruzzo National Park has continuously expanded and improved, and today it is visited by about two million tourists every year, coming not only from Italy but also from abroad. Although it is an Apennine park, the strength and grandeur of its nature, the primeval atmospheres of certain environments, and the ancient cultures that survive in its villages and small towns are striking. When it comes to hospitality, the choices are abundant. The Visitor Centers of the Abruzzo National Park are true gateways; at their counters, you can obtain information and useful services for staying, hiking, participating in nature activities, and environmental education. Each Center also offers a themed wildlife area, a museum, and a botanical garden. The one in Civitella Alfedena, for example, is dedicated to the wolf and lynx, offering the chance to observe them, learn about their way of life, relive the stories, cultures, and legends linked to them, watch film projections, immerse yourself in fantastic Nature Trails, relax in the equipped picnic area, with plenty of space to run and play. The Centers in Villavallelonga and Mainarde are dedicated to the Marsican brown bear and also offer small museums, films, and educational paths for the little ones to discover the den and habits of the friendly bear, as well as the possibility to observe some specimens in a large enclosure and to participate in the activities of the Pond and the Educational Garden. These are just some of the opportunities the Abruzzo National Park offers for a visit among the flora and fauna of the Apennines.
