The first low-cost flights to the United States operated by Norwegian Air will take off at the end of July.
The airline Norwegian Air has announced what has all the flavor of becoming a historic date for the carrier and travelers. On July 29, 2016, the first low-cost flights operated by Norwegian Air will take off, from a French airport.
The base for the Old Continent will be Paris and – specifically – Charles de Gaulle airport: from here, low-cost flights will depart for a series of cities in the United States.
Leading the lineup of new routes will be the connection between Paris and New York, with reference to JFK airport: this will be the most scheduled route, with a schedule of four flights per week.
Following that, here are the Paris – Los Angeles flights, served with twice-weekly frequency.
Finally, Fort Lauderdale also announced the new route between Paris and Fort Lauderdale, with a frequency of once a week.
The prices offered for flying from Paris to New York, Los Angeles, and Fort Lauderdale start at $175 per person but naturally, as is customary in this sector, the price is expected to fluctuate significantly, approaching the departure date or during particular times of the year.
It is interesting to note that the announcement of the launch of transoceanic routes from Paris also brought some previews regarding our country.
The management of Norwegian Air, in fact, reiterated that there is a desire to activate additional low-cost flights to the United States departing from Rome. A project already outlined last year but which has not yet come to fruition.
However, during the presentation press conference of the flights from Paris, CEO Bjorn Kjos admitted that currently Rome and Barcelona are the two cities of greatest interest for the carrier, from which it will soon be possible to take off with low-cost fares to the United States.
