Nella Spain Virtual VR-Spain-2020 workshop, conducted entirely virtually, training is at the heart of the program. Three days dedicated to the new challenges of Tourism with a panel of experts in the tourism and top-level Marketing sectors. The Spain Virtual Auditorium is ready to host the first day focused on Tourism Safety. Isabel Garaña, Director of the Spanish Tourism Board in Milan, and María Cruz Cádiz Gómez, Technical Director of the Spanish Institute for Tourism Quality (ICTE), will showcase the measures implemented by the tourism industry and how new safety protocols have been developed, while Lucia Montalbano of FTourism & Marketing will delve into their application within companies.
Carmen Sánchez, head of Ibiza Tourism Board, will highlight the beauty of the Mediterranean. During the roundtable on marketing and commercialization, the 10 keys to selling Spain in the current context will be clarified. Anna Bruno, director of FullTravel.it, journalist, and Digital Travel & Food Specialist, will provide ideas on how to implement and what are the best channels and tools to promote our offerings through a digital strategy at agencies, aimed at attracting potential customers.
Social media channels are essential to this digital strategy: @insopportabile (Gianluigi Tiddia) will discuss how to use social media to expand the potential client base, inspire, and seduce them to become followers. Meanwhile, Edoardo Colombo, author of “Tourism Mega Trend”, states that tourism is already 4.0. The adoption of technology by tourism operators in their relationship with clients before, during, and after travel is increasingly necessary, but what are the tools?
After a morning rich in content, in the evening, travel experiences will take the stage: Giovanna Ficarazzi, Italian Market Manager at Civitatis, will present 25 must-do experiences for those seeking a less standardized Spain. The travel experience begins with accommodation, Elias Albini from Paradores will share the experience of sleeping in a castle, monastery, fortress, in an elegant noble palace, or simply in an unconventional place. After an intense workday, Michel Magoni, Sommelier at Antica Fonderia in Rome, will propose a journey through Spanish wines in the first Virtual Spain Gastronomic Masterclass. Finally, Chef Mateus Ávila Lobo Coelho from La Albufera in Milan will reveal the secrets of Paella to learn how to make it like a true Spaniard.
The Spain Virtual Auditorium will open two more days of online training with the question: “Where is the Italian tourism market heading in 2021?” For an answer, Remo Evangelista, Director of TTG Weekly will speak. To shed more light on what the post-COVID-19 tourist will look like and the current travel trends and styles, Giulia Eremita, University Professor at the University of Cagliari, and economic journalist Domenico Palladino will participate in the presentation morning. The Instagrammer Orazio Spoto will discuss sustainability, conscious tourism, and the digital nomad phenomenon, which COVID-19 has turned into real trends in tourism, curated by Giuseppe Nerilli (Expert in sustainable tourism), Angelo Pittro (Director of Lonely Planet Italy), Nuria Lorenzo Gutiérrez (Tenerife tourism), and Leire Bilbao (Visit Benidorm). The year 2021 will be very special on the Camino de Santiago route, and for those undertaking it, Jorge Rubio, Director of the Spanish Tourism Body in Rome, and Carmen Pita of Turgalicia will show how to organize it.
In the evening, practical training will continue with marketing and sales topics: how to sell tourism to Millennials and Generation Z, Content Marketing for travel agencies, and how to find new clients for travel agencies. In the final roundtable on marketing and commercialization of Spain Virtual, agencies will learn how to use Facebook effectively to expand their potential customer base thanks to expert advice from Armando Travaglini. IT specialist Daniele Simonetti will talk about new tools on Google and SEO strategies for agencies.
Finally, topics to delight all attendees and inspire dreams: Tapas Pintxos Masterclass with Chef Mateus Ávila Lobo Coelho. The secrets of Gin Tonic will be revealed by Alice Paglia from La Albufera in Milan, and a slow journey through Spain will be led by Miruna A. Carlin from Vías Verdes.
