From July 27 to October 27, 2019 there is a scheduled extraordinary closure of Milan Linate Airport for major renovation works by the operator SEA. Flights will be diverted to other airports, starting from Milan Malpensa.

Alitalia and Milan Linate

During the closure period of Milan Linate Airport, Alitalia will reroute flights to the other two airports in the Milan hinterland: Milan Malpensa and Bergamo Orio al Serio. At Milan Malpensa and Bergamo, you’ll also find lounges, priority lanes, SkyPriority services, and much more from Alitalia.

At Bergamo Airport, the priority lane and gate with finger boarding will be guaranteed to all Alitalia customers but, temporarily, web and fast check-in services will not be available. We recommend arriving at the airport early for check-in procedures.

During this period, you can continue flying from Milan Malpensa and Bergamo Orio al Serio airports. Daily flights to/from Rome Fiumicino will operate according to the following schedule:

  • 9 frequencies to/from Milan Malpensa
  • 4 frequencies to/from Bergamo Orio al Serio

Milan Malpensa

Alitalia passengers have access to 28 reserved Check-in counters in the departure area of Terminal 1. Eligible customers can access not only the Casa Alitalia Piazza San Babila Lounge – located in the extra-Schengen Boarding Area – but also two SEA VIP Lounges in the Schengen Boarding Area, near the Alitalia gates.

Additionally, SkyPriority passengers will continue to enjoy all dedicated services:

  • Reserved Check-in counters
  • Fast track security controls
  • Priority boarding and baggage delivery baggage

Bergamo Orio Al Serio

To ensure maximum comfort during the travel experience for all Alitalia customers, the following will be guaranteed:

  • Priority lane to speed up security checks
  • Boarding with finger

SkyPriority passengers will also benefit from dedicated Check-in counters, priority boarding, and baggage delivery.

For eligible clients, two VIP Lounges will be available:

  1. Departure Area Lounge, located before security checks, with Fast Track
  2. Boarding Area Lounge near the Alitalia gates

Web and fast check-in services will be temporarily unavailable. Therefore, we recommend arriving early enough at the airport for check-in procedures.

All services available at Milan Linate will be extended and provided at Malpensa and Bergamo airports as follows:

Enjoy exclusive Alitalia advantages, from discounts to mileage promotions, to reach Malpensa and Bergamo airports more easily, in collaboration with our partners:

  • Taxis with Taxiblu and APPTAXI
  • Car rental with Maggiore
  • Parking with SEA ViaMilano Parking

Bonus Miles for members of the MilleMiglia Program

Flights to/from Milan Malpensa and Bergamo will also benefit from the special mileage table already applied to Rome Linate. Moreover, all Alitalia members will earn double miles on all domestic and international flights to/from Milan Malpensa and Bergamo Orio al Serio.

When does Milan Linate reopen?

According to the project timeline, Milan Linate Airport will reopen on October 28.
