New dates for BTM Puglia 2022. The new dates are from April 6 to 8, always at the new location in Taranto.

The climate of uncertainty, due to the resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic and the stricter new rules for traveling in Italy and attending events, led the organization of BTM Puglia, one of the main B2B tourism promotion events in southern Italy, to postpone the seventh edition of the event by a month, originally scheduled from March 2 to 4, 2022. According to the organizers, the new dates for BTM Puglia will therefore be from April 6 to 8, 2022. The location remains unchanged: Taranto, the city of two seas, a destination that in its recent post-industrial revitalization history intertwines with the core themes of the new edition of the Puglia event, which sees sustainability of tourism as an unavoidable choice and the enhancement of lesser-known Italy as the strength of the restart of incoming tourism. This vision is summarized by the theme chosen for 2022: #GreenPeople2Action, aiming to give substance and content to a word that has been widely used so far but rarely translated into concrete behaviors.

Nevio D’Arpa, CEO of BTM Puglia: “We knew it wouldn’t be easy to organize an international-scale event with the health emergency still ongoing, and that’s why we were prepared for any eventuality. Given the worsening situation, we deemed the safest option for exhibitors, buyers, and visitors to postpone BTM Puglia to spring, trusting that the new season will allow a more peaceful and less restricted event for participants.”

The three-day format is confirmed, with three venues hosting the event: the Officers’ Club of Taranto, the Non-commissioned Officers’ Club of Taranto, and the Orfeo Theater. The Officers’ Club will host the Expo areas, the destination management workshop BTM Lab, the thematic section dedicated to wedding tourism BTMinLove, and conference rooms for events, workshops, and focused sessions. The Non-commissioned Officers’ Club will host the thematic section dedicated to wine and food tourism BTMgusto and B2B meetings between buyers and sellers. Finally, the Orfeo Theater will host the main hall for the conferences and training sessions, with the main events expected by the audience.

BTM 2022, in this seventh edition, aims to become an increasingly attractive hub for incoming tourism in Puglia and southern Italy, providing opportunities for foreign operators and industry journalists to discover some hidden corners of this region firsthand. The postponement specifically aims to allow international audiences to participate in person, thanks to a rich hosted buyer program that will enable selected international operators to explore Puglia during a 4-day fam trip and meet Puglian exhibitors in the B2B matchmaking at the Non-commissioned Officers’ Club. BTM Puglia seeks to be a valuable opportunity for all tourism operators in southern Italy to meet “at home” those who distribute the Italian tourism product abroad and cannot participate in international fairs elsewhere in Europe.

BTM Puglia is organized by the event agency 365 Giorni in Puglia srls, which has been promoting a tourism model based on professionalism, digital training, innovation, and hospitality for 7 years. Today, BTM Puglia aims to return as a widely recognized international event that it was before the pandemic: the February 2020 edition hosted 16 thousand visitors, 175 exhibitors, 80 international buyers, and 155 industry experts over three days.
