BTM, a B2B tourism event in its ninth edition, has obtained international fair recognition. In 2023, it will be held at the Fiera del Levante in Bari from March 1 to 3.
The ninth edition of BTM, Business Tourism Management, the B2B tourism promotion event richest in southern Italy in terms of content quantity and quality, will be held from March 1 to 3, 2023. The event, after years of growth interrupted only by the pandemic, has been recognized as an international fair by the Apulia Region and has decided to make an additional leap in quality. For this reason, BTM Puglia is now becoming BTM Italy, with the launch of the new website www.btmitalia.it, already online with the news of the upcoming edition. The new venue also reveals higher ambitions: the Bari Fair of the Levante will host the 2023 event, with larger and better-equipped spaces compared to the previous editions in Taranto 2022 and Lecce 2020, in a pavilion that allows up to 4,000 square meters of exhibition area.
Three days of meetings, think tanks, workshops, training, and cultural events aimed at developing valuable synergies and networking among the main industry operators, companies, and end users.
The extensive schedule of speeches, B2B meetings, and training panels will make accessible to visitors the knowledge of a continuously growing business and development opportunities for brands and small, medium, and large entities in the region. Confirmed in the program are the areas that characterized the fair in previous editions: BTM Gusto, dedicated to wine and food tourism; BTM Wedding Tourism, for honeymoon operators; BTM Between the Lines, with presentations of the best books on tourism; and BTM4JOB, dedicated to employment in tourism.
“BTM has already achieved an international dimension for several years,” explains the founder Nevio D’Arpa, “in terms of content quality, exhibitors, buyers, and visitors, as also evidenced by the media visibility it has gained over the years. The recognition as an International Fair is the highlight of the work done so far, and this is the right moment to channel its potential into a path that enhances its role as the main meeting place for B2B tourism in southern Italy, without undermining its roots. After the editions in Lecce and Taranto, bringing BTM to Bari, the regional capital with the Fiera del Levante exhibition district, which has been the hub of Mediterranean trade since 1930, seemed like the natural way to increase the fair’s numbers and strengthen the bond with Apulia.”
The IX edition of BTM focuses on promoting tourism through a sustainable approach, highlighting themes of the Green & Blue Economy to showcase the wonders of the world and destinations, leveraging their authenticity, and valuing the communities that live and make them unique.
The challenge is to pursue this goal by improving the quality of offerings and professionalizing operators through the dissemination of excellent content, best practices, innovative startups, and new technologies, as well as new visions. BTM aims to chart a course towards continuous renewal. Thanks to the co-production by the Scientific Committee and collaboration with operators, hoteliers, speakers, consultants, and experts in the sector, numerous activities focused on specific themes such as food and wine, wedding tourism, new visions, and new technologies will be offered through a holistic approach.
In the last two editions, BTM hosted a total of 24,000 visitors, 330 exhibitors, 350 speakers, 160 international buyers, and 150 accredited media. BTM Italy is organized by the event agency 365 Giorni in Puglia srls, which has been proposing a model of tourism based on professionalism, digital training, innovation, and hospitality for eight years.
