The Sultanate of Oman, already open to international tourism since September 1, 2021, is included in the list of countries that can benefit from the covid-free tourist corridors, a measure recently enacted by the new decree and valid for people traveling for tourist reasons. All travelers who follow the guidelines will be exempt from quarantine upon return.

The sector’s efforts to bring business back to the levels recorded until 2019 are starting under good auspices: recently published, the guide published by Lonely Planet “Best in Travel 2022” lists Oman in the top 10 countries not to miss this year. Among the country’s ‘must-see’ sights, the prestigious international guide cites: Muttrah Souk, in the old city of Muscat; Ras Al Jinz beach where turtles nest; the Bahla Fortress, listed among UNESCO Sites hosting the country; the Dhofar region, from where the famous Incense Route departed; the picturesque Wadi Shab, a watercourse rich in natural pools and spectacular waterfalls.

Oman is a land of endless deserts, large mountain ranges, a stunning coast, and towns mixing modernity and tradition; a place where every fascinating aspect of Arabia comes to life spectacularly. As the world is reopening, current tourism options focused on local customs and sustainable long-term developments make this country the ideal place for those seeking an innovative destination in the Gulf region, rich in culture and traditions.
