La Festival of Lights in Lyon is the destination we suggest today to organize the Immaculate Conception long weekend. In Lyon everything is ready for this new edition of the Festival of Lights, scheduled from December 8 to 11 with about 70 fully illuminated projects.
The official start of the Fête des Lumières is set for 6:00 PM on December 8 in Place Bellecour: here will be the first exciting lighting in Lyon, continuing in a festive atmosphere until 1:00 AM on the night between December 11 and 12, when the event will conclude.
Every day, from 6 PM to midnight, the Festival of Lights will illuminate Lyon with true abstract but very colorful monuments, architectures made of multicolored lights and – especially this year – extraordinary 3D effects, very visible on the façade of the Celestins Theater, in Place des Célestins.
The centerpiece of the Festival of Lights in Lyon is Place des Terreaux and its Bartholdi Fountain, while the Parc de la Tête d’Or will offer the impressions of artists, tightrope walkers, strange characters who inhabit the “land of fire.”

And again, projections, Indian villages created by lights on the banks of the Rhone, theme exhibitions, shows and much more, all in the sign of light, in all its facets, its colors, its carefully crafted plays, among LEDs, clean energy lighting, recycled materials and above all plenty of imagination combined with rigorous studies.
Every corner of the city will be set up in the spirit of the Festival of Lights, to offer a magical Immaculate Conception long weekend in Lyon to those who want to approach this beautiful event now in its twelfth edition.
