May 6: feast at the Monastery of Saint George, near the Krak des Chevaliers.
July: cotton festival in Aleppo: parade of flowered floats.
August: in Latakia, festival of love, featuring the greatest singers of the Arab world.
September: vineyard festival in As Suwayda, with the election of Miss Vineyard; Damascus fair; Bosra Festival, featuring folk groups from around the world performing in the prestigious Roman theater.
September 8: Exaltation of the Cross feast in Maalula.
September 14: feast of Saint Thecla in Maalula.
September 24: feast of Saint Thede in Maaloula.
October 7-8: feast of Saint Sergius in Maalula.
October-November: Damascus film festival, held at the Cham hotel auditorium; the film festival takes place every two years and alternates with the Theater festival, held at the same venue.
