The house where Lazzaro Spallanzani was born in 1729 was declared a national monument in 1939. The place where the great naturalist lived for a long time and established his natural history museum, the result of the experiences and discoveries he made, has been transformed into a privileged site for the preservation of documentary material and testimonies about the life and work of the great biologist.
