Il Boston Local Food Festival takes place every year on the waterfront docks of Fort Point Channel in Boston. The event features sustainable and affordable food, produced exclusively in the Massachusetts area and the New England region of the United States.
Participating in this festival means having the opportunity to meet farmers, producers, chefs, and businesses involved in workshops and culinary demonstrations. The event is accompanied by fun activities and live music, for lively entertainment and at the same time a promotion aimed at encouraging and stimulating regional agriculture, one of the main economic resources of the State of Massachusetts.
The wide variety of food from New England aims to become an inspiration to cultivate and eat products grown and caught in Massachusetts, with a strong emphasis on vegetables and fruits. It is a unique festival that also features famous chefs, leading a non-profit organization, supporting the nutritional and food system by adopting typical products and educating the consumer, as well as the culinary community.

Applemania!
The apple is certainly one of the main products of Massachusetts agriculture with over 29 varieties grown in the state’s orchards, and it sees wide application in the food and gastronomic industry. Cider donuts, cider, apple candies, sauces, apple butter, jams, crepes, pancakes, apple chips, dried fruit, and an assortment of sweet and savory dishes. Chefs prepare culinary demonstrations of numerous dishes using apple as the main ingredient.
Fishstock
A mini seafood festival showcases fresh fish from Massachusetts caught by local fishermen in the ocean waters. Regional restaurants offer local fish for all kinds of tastes, and participants can chat with fishermen, look at fishing gear, and learn how to identify and clean different types of fish.
Meet Your Meat
Butchers also demonstrate their skills and teach how to cut meat. Chefs present various types of beef, goat, poultry, lamb, and pork meat and prepare grilled meat dishes, sausages, stews, and meatballs with restaurateurs.
Glorious Eggs & Cream
This section includes artisanal cheeses, creamy cheeses, cheese sauces, local milk and creams, eggs, ice creams and sorbets, milk soups, omelettes, and quesadillas.

Also on display are special products from artisan producers of typical Massachusetts foods: jellies, jams, preserves, breads, crackers, cookies, sweets, paired with tastings, demonstrations, and an exhibition of Massachusetts products.
Green Thumbs Up!
Examples of urban gardening and advice are shown during workshops and exhibitions. You learn how to create a vegetable garden and collect seeds. Activities also include city gardening, ethnic gardening, and other specific techniques for setting up a garden.
The Good Life
Health and education groups share the benefits of knowledge of certain foods and food preparation, including interactive activities with the opportunity to practice exercises as well.
What’s Brewing in Mass.?
Local beer producers demonstrate the best beers of Massachusetts. Tastings are possible, there is an opportunity to learn how to choose hops, demonstrations of homemade beer brewing are conducted, and pairings with fish tastings and other foods.

Where the Boston Food Food Festival Takes Place
The Boston Food Food Festival is held on The Rose Kennedy Greenway. The festival extends over just more than 5 blocks of the Rose Kennedy Greenway, starting from State Street and Atlantic Avenue and continuing along the greenway just past High Street and Atlantic Avenue. It is located a short walk from downtown Boston and is situated near South Station, Faneuil Hall, and The Aquarium.
