Located in France on the border with Spanish territory, the GR 10 is an engaging but at the same time very tiring route, as it crosses the entire mountain range of the Pyrenees.
Known as GR 10 Pyrenees, this tough path extends for as much as 850 kilometers, of which only 470 are located in the Midi-Pyrénées region.
During the journey, you will explore the two mountain ranges of the Pyrenees: the Central and those of Ariège. But the GR 10 is not just mountain and sweat, in fact there are many wonders that you will encounter along the way.
In the Central Pyrenees, you can contemplate the Pyrenees National Park, the spa town of Cauterets, the Pont d’Espagne and the suggestive Lutor waterfalls.
In the Pyrenees of Ariège, instead, you can admire the Maladeta massif, walking at 2000 meters on the border between Spain and France, the Ariège Regional Natural Park of the Pyrenees, the Ars waterfalls and the Beille plateau.
Not only nature, but also many terminal villages, churches, and monasteries that will accompany you along the route, including the Romanesque church in Mérens-les-Vals or the lovely Belle Epoque-style spa town of Bagnères-de-Luchon. A trip to adore, full of unspoiled places, alternating moments of hard walking with gentle breaks, accompanied by those sounds of nature that only such an experience can offer you.
