La Permanente Exhibition of Culture and Peasant Civilization, variously called the Museum of Peasant Civilization, was set up by the Social Cooperative C.I.D.I.S, which manages the home care service for the elderly, in two large rooms on the ground floor of Palazzo Pignatelli, which is currently the seat of the town hall.
The exhibition activity falls within the socio-cultural purposes undertaken by the same Social Cooperative and is part of a more general project of memory recovery and cultural animation. The permanent exhibition, open since 1994, displays objects from the territory of Lavello related to the cereal cycle and traditional type peasant housing. Among the approximately 255 pieces are furniture components and objects of domestic life and peasant work, agricultural equipment, costumes, and photographs.
