The Trappeto Maratea Museum, the main exhibition space of Vico del Gargano, is located in the medieval village inside an ancient trappeto, that is an olive mill, dating back to the 14th century.
It is a very important exhibition space for understanding the local culture, which found in olive cultivation, and therefore in the trappeto environment, one of the foundations of its subsistence.
Inside the Museum/trappeto, 32.25 meters long and between 3.50 and 5.50 meters wide, there are two areas: in one there are wooden presses for pressing olives, the millstone, and other tools useful for oil production and agricultural work; in the other, you can observe an oil tank, a warehouse, and a stable. Other interesting exhibition elements illustrate objects of daily life and the monastic kitchen, where those working in the mill could refresh themselves.
