The climate of Albania ranges from Mediterranean – along the coasts – to continental, as you move inland, reaching the rugged and colder Balkan massifs. The main cities of Albania areTirana – a metropolis and the capital – Durrës, Shkodër, Elbasan, Korçë/Corizza, Vlorë, and Fier.
The population is almost entirely of Albanian ethnicity; followed by Greek, with small minorities of Vlachs, Roma Gypsies, Serbs, Macedonians, and Bulgarians living in Albania. Albania is a Parliamentary Republic and is administratively divided into 12 qarks, or prefectures.
The official language is Albanian, but Greek is also spoken in the south of the territory, and generally, the Italian language is widely known.
