Needless to say, there is so much, so very much to see in London. And everything is majestic, and quite demanding too. It’s best to start in the southernmost area, Westminster, which for over a millennium has embodied the center of political and religious power in England. Here you’ll find the country’s largest abbey, Westminster Abbey, and the Parliament headquarters, featuring the famous House of Commons and House of Lords.

The Houses of Parliament cover an area of over 32,000 square meters, preserving a medieval section known as Westminster Hall. In the former, you can attend sessions, although in practice, the long queues are a deterrent. The latter, the aristocratic House of Lords, has around a thousand seats and proudly displays the queen’s throne at its center. Bills are presented and debated in both chambers.

Architecturally, two magnificent towers adorn this vast complex: the Victoria Tower to the west, standing 102 meters tall, where millions of parliamentary records are kept. And the Big Ben tower or Clock Tower to the east, 106 meters high, featuring the beautiful four-faced clock, the largest in England, and a 14-ton bell.
