Headquarters of the “Lauro Chiazzese” Foundation for Art and Culture, since 2015 the villa has been the exhibition center for the permanent painting collections of the Fondazione Sicilia. The building was constructed around the second half of the 18th century and has been remodeled over time. The exhibition route, which extends for about a thousand square meters, features more than three hundred works, ranging from the great Masters of the 17th century, such as Mattia Preti, Salvator Rosa, and Luca Giordano, to the Sicilian landscape painters of the 19th century, like Catti, Leto, Lojacono, and others. Among the paintings, those by Ettore De Maria Bergler stand out, some of which were donated by his nephew. Of particular interest is the Alesi-Cuccio Cartaino Donation, which includes 44 works by major Italian 19th-century artists, including Boldini, De Nittis, Zandomeneghi, and Signorini. Early 20th-century art is represented by Aleardo Terzi and Galileo Chini. The decades unfold through paintings by Mario Sironi, Carlo Carrà, Arturo Tosi, Ottone Rosai, Corrado Cagli, Fausto Pirandello, Renato Guttuso, and Mario Schifano. Additionally, other donations are exhibited, featuring works by Michele Dixitidomino and Pippo Rizzo. One room of the villa is dedicated to graphic works, with an exhibition focused on the theme of cartography. There is also space for contemporary art, with a large multimedia room capable of hosting video installations.
