The museum is dedicated to Father Silvestro Frangipane, who lived in the Convent of Zagarise between 1570 and 1650, during the same period when his fellow monks created the 36 paintings that today form the most important collection of the museum site. Established in 1990 by the parish priest Don Egidio Pudia, the exhibition path of the art gallery includes frescoes dating back to the 16th century and pictorial and sculptural works dating between the 17th and 19th centuries; all testimonies coming from the territory of Zagarise, specifically from both the Church and the Convent of the Dominican Fathers as well as from the Parish Church of Santa Maria Assunta.
