Even just one day can be enough to discover the beauty of environments marked by mountainous landscapes and coasts dotted with fishing villages with a naive charm.
A always useful recommendation is to start early in the morning, to avoid lines of tourist buses, which regularly circulate in the area.
Stops not to miss are Killarney, with the splendid lakes. Killorglin, a delightful village nestled on the banks of a river, famous for the Puck Fair, the annual traditional festival in August, culminating with the crowning of a goat. The Moll’s Gap, an incredible gorge that slips between bogs and mountains, carving enchanting panoramas. Caherciveen, the main town of the peninsula, home to a local history center. And the Staigue Fort, an iron age fort perched on a hill and built with dry stone. It is the best preserved in Ireland.
