“Original Padua” offers one of the most beloved routes among locals—an itinerary that reveals a different side of the city, one every resident wishes they could always experience.
The journey fittingly begins where the world’s most famous waterway starts: the Riviera del Brenta. You’ll enjoy a short but memorable stretch that departs from the Portello, follows the impressive 16th-century walls, and finishes at the Golena di San Massimo. Along the way, don’t miss a stop to admire the Walls and Bastions. Afterward, indulge in a traditional snack and aperitif featuring tramezzini, assorted pastries, and a glass of Valdobbiadene Prosecco.
Leaving the Golena behind, you’ll dive into modern Padua—a vibrant, green urban space. Crossing the striking cable-stayed footbridge on Via Venezia, an architectural marvel, you enter Parco d’Europa. The flowing lines and light contemporary artworks lead you to the “Giardino di Cristallo“, an impressive example of modern architecture. Thanks to advanced technology and the dedication of director and gardener Antonio Brusaterra, the greenhouse hosts a unique collection of rare succulents, donated to Padua by Professor Angelo Levis.

This dialogue between the 16th century and the 21st doesn’t end here. Before you return, take time to see the contemporary Monument to the Victims of the Twin Towers Attack, created by Daniel Libeskind, as well as the historic 16th-century Conca delle Porte Contarine right beside it.
The half-day excursion runs from March to November aboard the Delta Nova, an eco-friendly electric boat.
