The designs enclosed in the printing blocks range from the most classical styles to floral and cashmere patterns, up to the early artistic avant-gardes represented by Art Nouveau and Art Deco.

In 1997, the Zucchi group was awarded the 1st Guggenheim Prize for having saved from certain destruction a precious heritage of materials for the history of textiles, and for transforming the largest collection of ancient textile printing blocks into an archive and museum open to the public.

The museum offers the opportunity to admire the different types of block production and the variety of designs contained in this collection.

During the visit, there is the possibility to attend a hand printing demonstration, as a testimony to a technique now disappeared, but which marked a fundamental step in the evolution of textile technologies.
The printing demonstration, preceded by a video presentation, may include direct participation of the public who will have the chance to try their hand at a fascinating artisanal technique.Via Ugo Foscolo, 4 – 20121 Milan
