Hence banished is banish’d from the world…”
Juliet’s House Museum
The Juliet’s House Museum is housed in a sturdy medieval building that, according to tradition, has belonged to the Dal Cappello family since at least the 13th century. This family gives its name to the street, and their emblem can still be seen carved into the keystone of the internal courtyard arch. Throughout the centuries, the building has undergone many restorations and updates, changing hands several times. Over time, the legend grew, and local lore identified it as the birthplace of Juliet Capulet. In 1907, the Municipality of Verona decided to purchase part of the medieval complex to preserve its history.
