4 Asinara National Park 

The Asinara National Park was created in November 1997 and perfectly matches the boundaries of Asinara Island, under the municipality of Porto Torres, province of Sassari, in Sardinia. Highlights include the former prison complex, the Austro-Hungarian ossuary, and the turtle hospital.

Sila National Park 

After legislative work that lasted almost a century, Sila National Park was officially established on 14 November 2002, becoming Calabria’s third national park. It spans the provinces of Catanzaro, Cosenza, and Crotone, covering 73,695 hectares. The symbol of the park is the wolf, with around 15-20 wolves confirmed to roam its territory.
