On January 31 and February 1 in Rome, over 100 foreign buyers are expected for the new edition of the Wedding Exchange in Italy, the event that promotes wedding tourism through incoming activities and internationalization.
Historic residences and breathtaking locations, not only for holidays but also for weddings. Italy is a destination wedding favorite and increasingly in demand thanks to its cultural and natural heritage (as well as food and wine), with beautiful cities rich in art and dreamlike scenery that satisfy the most diverse needs, from beach weddings to country chic celebrations, from ceremonies at high altitude to magical and romantic events on the lakeshore.
Furthermore, many foreign couples choose to say “I do” in the Belpaese also because they are attracted by the excellence of made in Italy: to showcase and present the best proposals in the sector to buyers and wedding planners from all over the world, the appointment is set for January 31 and February 1, 2020 with the BMII – Borsa del Matrimonio in Italia, the B2B event of international significance that involves Italian and foreign operators in two days of work and meetings, for a total of 2,500 one-to-one appointments.
The Borsa del Matrimonio in Italia, launched in 2014 to meet the growing demand for foreign weddings in Italy and now a sector benchmark, offers the most comprehensive overview of made in Italy products and services for the big day; a meeting between supply and demand that continually registers growing requests from buyers thanks to the ever broader and more structured proposals from attending businesses and institutions.
Italy confirms itself among the leading marketplaces for tourism generated by foreign couples’ weddings, and local entities are paying increasing attention to this constantly growing phenomenon—to the extent that the Municipality of Rome, the Lazio Region, the Pisa Chamber of Commerce, and the “Vicenza è” Tourist Consortium, among others, have already actively participated in BMII. The wedding world, in fact, represents an extraordinary development opportunity for the territory, and the growth of tourism linked to this sector can create job opportunities and have significant positive impacts on the entire economy.
“The aim of the Borsa del Matrimonio in Italia is to promote incoming activities and to concretely introduce Italian businesses into the process of internationalization, fostering new commercial agreements through the offer of our excellent craftsmanship and the presentation of locations with breathtaking landscapes,” emphasizes Ottorino Duratorre, head of the event for Romafiere, a company that has specialized in fashion and bridal events for over 30 years and is the organizer of BMII.“A showcase and business opportunity for local authorities, small and medium enterprises, giving them the chance to present themselves to wedding planners and buyers from all over the world.”
In its various editions, the event has hosted operators specialized in wedding tourism from every corner of the globe: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, Japan, India, Israel, Lebanon, Morocco, Moldova, Montenegro, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, United Kingdom, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, United States, South Africa, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, Hungary, and Venezuela.
