ITA Airways has unveiled the updates on the Rome – Milan route dedicated to its customers, characterized by a wide range of travel options with new benefits, such as the Superior class, increasingly flexible fares, Flight Pass, Fast Track, Face Boarding, new opportunities for Volare members, and discounts for parking your car at the airports in Milan Linate and Rome Fiumicino.

During the winter season, ITA Airways offers up to 30 flights on the Rome – Milan – Rome route on weekdays, 15 from FCO and 15 from LIN, one every hour from 7:00 to 22:00, including 7 flights departing before 9:00. The route is mainly tailored for business travelers moving between the capital and the Lombard capital with high frequency during the weekdays, and for leisure and commuter travelers during the weekend. ITA Airways has developed a tailor-made offer for all types of customers, following its strategy of putting the passenger at the center of its business.

On board, in addition to the Economy offer, ITA Airways offers the Superior class, a reserved class with the guarantee of always having the seat next to free, to allow working optimally, or simply to enjoy the flight in complete relaxation. Moreover, the Superior offers a dedicated and differentiated onboard service depending on the time of day: besides the traditional offering of hot and cold drinks, a breakfast with warm pastries, a selection of cookies and savory snacks are served during the day, and in the evening, an aperitif with sparkling wine and snacks.

The comfort of the Superior Class extends beyond the onboard experience and accompanies passengers in airport services as well, allowing free checked-in of 2 bags of 23 kg each, check-in at Sky Priority counters, access to Lounges, use of fast track to quickly pass security checks, priority boarding, and free seat selection.

The ITA Airways offer includes numerous fare options to meet all customer flexibility needs, also through an extensive choice of brands: Economy Light, Economy Classic, Economy Flex, and Superior Flex.

Furthermore, for greater flexibility, all Economy fares on ITA Airways Rome – Milan – Rome flights always allow changes, including the Economy Light fare.

For Economy Flex and Superior Flex fares, changes are free (if the class of booking for the new itinerary is unavailable or the fare is higher, the difference will be payable), for Economy Light it is now possible to modify the ticket with an additional fee, and for the Economy Classic fare, a reduction has been implemented from a surcharge of €65 to €30.

In addition to the individual fares described, the flag carrier offers the Flight Pass, the new ITA Airways fare product that, even on Rome – Milan – Rome flights, allows the purchase of a prepaid ticket package, customizing the usage conditions according to needs, at very competitive prices (a package of 50 flights at a promotional price of €69 in Economy class and €99 in Superior class all-inclusive per flight)

Pre-purchasable tickets on the ITA Airways Connect website give Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) the opportunity to obtain competitive rates for business trips (can be booked from 90 days to 1 hour before departure). Building the package is very easy: simply select the travel period and the destination city, choose the travel class between Economy and Superior, decide how many flights the package will include, from a minimum of 6 to a maximum of 24, and specify the number of passengers.

With Flight Pass, the ticket prices are locked at the moment of purchase, with no surprises of fare increases, allowing savings on flights even in peak seasons.

ITA Airways also offers a new Round Trip Economy fare at €95 all-inclusive, “same day” for day trips, available for purchase until December 31, 2022, for travel by March 31, 2022.

All this can also be combined with the added value of the Volare loyalty program, ITA Airways’ loyalty program tailored for those who love to travel, for leisure or work. Many exclusive services are available in the four program clubs: Smart, Plus, Premium, and Executive, where 10 points are earned for every euro spent on ITA Airways flights.

Earning points is very simple: just purchase flights that are sold and operated by ITA Airways or ITA Airways services. The number of points varies depending on the club:

  • Smart Club: 10 points per euro spent;
  • Plus Club: 11 points per euro spent;
  • Premium Club: 12 points per euro spent;
  • Executive Club: 13 points per euro spent.

The Volare program allows you to reach the next club and reward flights more quickly with a convenient points accelerator. With accumulated points, you can access the program’s exclusive Clubs and request flights in Cash&Points mode.

During the flight, besides the courteous and professional cabin crew, ITA Airways customers can also choose, depending on the fare policy, a pre-assigned seat, an adjacent free seat, and possibly enjoy an upgrade to Superior class, either free of charge or paid.

The benefits are not limited to those offered directly by ITA Airways; from the start, customers traveling on the Rome – Milan – Rome routes can access discounted parking rates at Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate airports.

Additionally, upon arrival at the airport, check-in can be simplified and sped up using:

  • Fast Track: a service available at Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate airports, dedicated to ITA Airways passengers with a Superior Class ticket, or to Volare program members belonging to the Premium and Executive Clubs, or employees of companies with an agreement with ITA Airways who have joined the Corporate sub-program, or SkyTeam Elite Plus members with an ITA Airways boarding pass;
  • Face Boarding: a service available at Milan Linate Airport, soon to be available at Rome Fiumicino for ITA Airways passengers. At Milan Linate, to use the service, registration at the kiosks located just before the security checks is required. The process is simple and takes just a few minutes (registration only once); an electronic ID card or passport and boarding pass are needed.

Immediately after, passengers can proceed through security checks without presenting any documents or boarding passes, passing through biometric controls only. Using face boarding, the customer will follow a preferential lane that shortens the time and allows security checks with new EDS systems.
