AAA Looking for the perfect smart worker for six months free in the Canary Islands. A not entirely original ad, but one that we are sure will spark curiosity and the desire to participate in a large number of people.

Put the Canary Islands, after all, and six free months in a fairy-tale location, and the game is done. As long as you win the Canary Islands lottery, since only one will be the lucky or the lucky person.

The international campaign has the slogan “The best climate in the world seeks a remote worker” and is, indeed, a dream selection process that will remain open until June 9, while the winner will be announced on June 30.

To participate, simply share on social media a video presentation in English or Spanish answering the question “What do you do and what benefit would you get by working from the Canary Islands?”, tagging the Canary Islands accounts – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube – and using the hashtag #RemoteWorkerWanted.

A panel of five members, including telecommuting experts and tourism marketing professionals, will select the winning application. All information and more details about the campaign are available on the website: www.remoteworkerwanted.com

The Canary Islands will cover all travel expenses and access to co-living and co-working services, as well as all additional activities, for one person for up to six months.

All applicants will have exclusive access to the Remote Talent Directory, a tool that connects freelancers or smart workers with professionals and companies in the Canary Islands to develop remote collaborations and create a dense network of relationships at the European level.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy by the Canary Islands, which aim to increase the presence of remote workers from the archipelago, i.e., those who want to reach this corner of paradise not just for a vacation but also to work “sea view”. The Canary Islands can become the office with the best climate in the world for many. The pandemic has indeed prompted many to move to work in tourist spots, and this trend will not stop with the retreat of the virus. The consulting firm McKinsey estimates that over 20% of the workforce in developed countries will continue working from home three to five days a week, almost four times more than pre-COVID.

The Canary Islands are among the main destinations benefiting from this phenomenon: since 2020, a monthly increase of 10% in smart worker arrivals to the archipelago is estimated. Today, there are at least 8,000 remote workers from countries such as Germany (29.09%), France (9.09%), the Netherlands (7.27%), the United Kingdom (5.45%), and an increasing number from the United States (3.64%). To support this trend, the Government of the Canary Islands launched the campaign “The office with the best climate in the world” and announced a plan of 500,000 euros to attract about 30,000 professionals in five years, to develop projects of one to three months.
