A splendid city and a unanimous choice. Porto has been awarded the Best European Destination title for 2017: it is the triumph of its history and beauty, combined with the love of those who have visited it and simultaneously chosen it as queen of Europe.
Indeed, over 138,116 – out of a total of over 420,000 – tourists from 174 countries crowned the Portuguese city, marking its third triumph after those of 2012 and 2014.
On the podium are also Milan (2nd) and the Polish Gdansk (3rd). Surpassing very popular cities like Barcelona, Paris, London, and Amsterdam.
The prestigious recognition awarded to the city reaffirms Portugal as a leading tourist destination capable of attracting visitors, first for its fame and now even more for the credibility of this award.
