The first trips between Milan and Venice (and return) on Frecciarossa trains have started.
Interesting news related to rail mobility in Italy: from Sunday, January 31, 2016, a new high-speed route has been launched. It is the route between Milan and Venice, covered from these days by Frecciarossa trains from Trenitalia.
Until today, the route was operated similarly but using Frecciabianca trains, but the transportation company has decided to “raise the level” of service with the departure of Frecciarossa. No substantial change concerns the previous operation: the number of four daily trips remains confirmed, two for each direction.
Regarding stops, Trenitalia confirms the previous conditions, with the following stops:
– Milan Central
– Brescia,
– Verona Porta Nuova,
– Vicenza,
– Padua,
– Venice Mestre
– Venice Santa Lucia (and vice versa, for return trips).
What has changed is the level of onboard services, as Frecciarossa trains offer the possibility of using a meeting room in the Executive level, lounges and silence areas in the Business level, the Frecce WiFi portal with entertainment, travel information, and 3G internet connectivity; onboard monitors with continuously updated travel news; a Bistro car in the center of the train. Finally, there are four environments to choose from for traveling: Executive, Business, Premium, and Standard.
On the occasion of this specific news presentation, the Trenitalia staff has decided to start a promotional initiative, aimed at CartaFRECCIA holders: until next February 29, 2016, users enrolled in the loyalty program who purchase tickets for Milan – Venice routes (and return) will earn double points.
