Participants have until May 10 to apply for the second edition of the ABCiak film-tourism contest, created by Lucrezia Argentiero, which will take place in Calabria, at Sila Park, from May 23 to 28.
Summary
The Contest on Sila Park
The participation in the Contest is free and reserved for professional directors and videomakers, who can compete with one or more ideas/subjects on the theme: “SILA, embrace nature and take care of it. Bring back only emotions, leave nothing but footprints.” The idea/subject must aim to tell the story of the embrace, curiosities, history, tourist and hospitable aspects of this magical and authentic land. A fascinating theme, that of the human-nature relationship. The environment is our home. Our shelter. Our life. Nature must be respected because it is the foundation of everything. It is the joy of living and should be lived to the fullest by embracing it and being embraced.
A theme that unites and connects to the “rest”: to history, traditions, and gastronomy. Across over 74,000 hectares, between the provinces of Cosenza, Catanzaro, and Crotone, amidst long rows of trees, foothill lakes to cross with electric boats, wild orchids, giant trees, there are also villages embedded in time, artisan workshops, and museums. On May 16, 2016, the jury will select the 5 proposals deemed most curious and original.
Directors/Videomakers for Sila Park
And the 5 directors/videomakers from May 23 to 28, 2016, equipped with their own gear for shooting and editing, will be called and hosted in Sila, and will have 3 days to “shoot,” two days to “edit,” and one day to win. The result? 5 digital postcards, with a maximum duration of 3 minutes, that will “talk” about “green,” nature, respect for the environment, embraces, and Sila.
The 5 participants will be provided with meals, accommodation, and travel expenses from their place of origin to the towns of Camigliatello and Lorica.
On the evening of May 28, 2016, the jury will declare the winning video, which will be awarded a cash prize of 1,000 Euros.
Participants interested in entering must send a document containing a brief plot/idea of up to 15 lines, a short artistic CV (max 2500 characters), along with the Registration Form and declaration of originality for the ABCiak contest, and a photograph of the author, by 24:00 on May 10, 2016, to the email address: abciak@yahoo.it.
This second stage of the ABCiak Festival is promoted by the Sila National Park Authority and the Tourism Promotion Association “ABC della Puglia” of Ceglie Messapica (BR).
