Ivana Jelinic has gained twenty years of experience, starting very young in dealing with critical issues for distributional tourist policies. From her travel agency, in Panicale, in the province of Perugia, she has outlined the prospects of a sector starting from a microeconomic perspective for national and international planning, never so close to businesses. In particular, she created a network of local tourist companies to develop incoming tourism and export the value of individual territorial identities.

Undersecretary of the Chamber of Commerce of Umbria since 2015, she first held the position of regional president of Fiavet (Italian Federation of Travel and Tourism Business Associations) in Umbria, then in 2018 she became the youngest national president of Fiavet, re-elected by acclamation for a second term. An expert in the meeting industry, since 2020 she has been a member of the Board of Directors of Convention Bureau Italy.

As a leading delegate in union negotiations, she was the architect of a series of decisive agreements, achieving the first National Collective Contract for travel agencies. She constantly pays attention to new generations and women, to whom she has dedicated strategic research and surveys for the future of the sector. She contributed to the debate on tourism and kept the focus on the topic alive during the difficult moments of the pandemic.

I thank Minister Daniela Santanchè for the trust she has placed in me – are Jelinic’s first statements – entrusting me with such a strategic and delicate role, which honors me, charges me with responsibility, and represents a prestigious and exciting challenge. When in Umbria my first regional incoming project was born, we bet on a group of agencies that wanted to go beyond the concept of micro-dimension. I like to imagine that also the work I will develop in Enit – taking over from Roberta Garibaldi – can amplify the potential and value of Italian tourism and the Italy brand. I will do my best with the passion and team spirit that have accompanied me so far” concludes Jelinic.
