The theater as a place to promote a destination. It is the latest idea from VisitUSA Italy presenting Roadtrip America on February 8 at the San Fedele Auditorium in Milan.
For promoting the United States, VisitUSA Italy couldn’t find a location more appealing to culture than a theater, in Milan, which boasts venues like these. It is the latest innovative and exciting idea from the board and the outgoing president of the VisitUSA Italy Association, Olga Mazzoni, who is stepping down after six years at the helm. The event, which sold out all 450 seats, underscores how innovative and cultural events can support promotion often perceived only through its most commercial aspects.
“The VisitUSA Italy Association has decided to forgo sector trade shows and opt for more creative ways to promote the United States of America,” states the event’s presentation note. “With unique geographical, cultural, and musical expertise, it has decided to produce a theater show on February 8th at Milan’s Auditorium San Fedele, in the heart of the city. Thanks to the support of BRANDUSA, the Association has created ROADTRIP AMERICA, a representation of four travel routes across the United States depicted in the style of VisitUSAItaly in a single act.
“American roads are captivating in every season and in every direction, but our choice fell on four routes starting from U.S. cities connected via direct flights from Italy. New York City, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Chicago are the starting points for on-the-road experiences traversing at least 3 or 4 states, embarking on unique journeys defined by geography and emotion“, says Olga Mazzoni, outgoing President of the Association who proposed this new initiative to Brand USA for 2020. “We wanted to do something new, different, more engaging and fun; to communicate the United States through our passion and storytelling, involving agents and clients“.
The invitation to the theater on Saturday, February 8th is addressed to travel agencies, both those who have long followed the association’s activities and new ones, all passionate about the United States. They will be special guests along with their clients, friends, and tourism journalists for a free afternoon of entertainment. The goal is to inspire travel plans for 2020 and 2021, showcase new ideas, break the routine, suggest and stimulate new trips, and inspire desire for America, also through musical pieces performed with the help of A-Z Blues and its musicians. Members and actors of VisitUSA will take to the stage to narrate America through images, stories, iconic places, films from the big screen and TV: a collective storytelling, challenging traditional tourist promotion formats everyone knows. VisitUSA Italy is taking the lead — literally! — and is creating new and informative entertainment with its own resources, engaging a significant number of members. The Auditorium San Fedele, with a capacity of 450 seats, a dignified layout, and excellent acoustics, is mainly known for its cultural activities.
