"Visit Italy Web Radio" is the first international radio station dedicated to promoting and relaunching Italian tourism. Daily multilingual travel news updates from 23 countries worldwide, insights, and well-known personalities both nationally and internationally.
From today, Italy will promote tourism worldwide also through web radio. Enit, the National Tourism Agency that promotes Italian inbound tourism with 27 offices located across Europe, the Americas, Asia, Oceania, announces the launch of Visit Italy Web Radio, the first international web radio dedicated to promoting and relaunching Italian tourism through musical entertainment.
Multilingual news updates, live broadcasts with correspondents from 23 countries, podcasts, minute-by-minute tourism updates, thematic programs, travel talk shows, columns on literary news and travel, exclusive interviews with well-known figures nationally and internationally, but above all a lot of Italian music as a powerful tool to spread Italian culture, history, traditions, and lifestyle.
Visit Italy Web Radio, the sound of Italy worldwide, to tell our country both in Italy and abroad. It is enriched with a selection of musical tracks grouped into various “Special” categories by genre, allowing listeners to taste and discover the Peninsula through interpretations by foreign artists connected to Italy, musical opera, top Italian jazz and swing musicians, the magnificent ’30s-’40s-’50s, and Italy dance music.
There will be dedicated columns on the trends of national and international tourism, art, culture, wine and gastronomy, active lifestyle, sustainability, and folklore, providing a global perspective on Italy. The radio can be listened to via the player on Italy’s official website (Italia.it) and Enit.it, available on Mac App Store, Google Play, Huawei AppGallery, and compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home.
It will be a tool not only to get closer to and fall even more in love with Italy but also to learn the language and culture through music and entertainment. It begins with a grand launch and will be the official web radio of Giro E at Giro d’Italia 2021 from May 8 to 30, 2021. Enit will also produce a series of videos showcasing the locations touched by the Pink Race, traveling across Italy to promote the Peninsula and sustainability from a cycling perspective, marking a new direction for the sector. “Due to its itinerant nature – explains Enit’s President Giorgio Palmucci – cycling is the sport that most effectively tells the beauty of the territories, reaching homes and hearts of people, and it is especially popular among foreigners: 61 percent of cycling tourists in Italy come from abroad. The appeal of Italian sports tourism is growing on foreign markets, and pre-COVID, it showed an increase of +19.7%, equivalent to 4 million overnight stays, and +9.4%, corresponding to 484 million euros spent.”.
Live connections will allow us to experience the excitement of the race narrated by the riders chosen by Enit. Thirty influencers and national and international journalists will form the team of the Italian Tourism Agency’s cyclists, selected in Italy and abroad. The goal is to highlight Italian excellence, promote sustainable tourism, and share insights on lesser-known territories and major cities from a different perspective. The team captain of Enit’s team will again be the former professional cyclist Max Lelli.
