From March 28, EGO Airways will operate the first flight from Catania to Parma. Following that, Bari and Lamezia Terme will also be reached by the airline.
The first scheduled flight EGO Airways to Parma Airport will take off at 1 PM on March 28 from Catania. And, within a few days, other connections to Bari and Lamezia Terme will follow. The airline has chosen Parma, the Italian Capital of Culture 2021 and First UNESCO Creative City for gastronomy, to launch a new series of routes between North and South of the country.
And that this is a major challenge for Parma Airport is confirmed by the numbers: the new weekly routes will be 14, with 85,000 additional passenger seats and a significant increase in cargo space both for Catania, reached by a daily flight, and for other airports. Currently, 4 flights a week to Bari and 3 to Lamezia Terme are already bookable.
All of this thanks to the state-of-the-art Embraer 190 with 100 seats, chosen for these regional flights, which, besides Parma, will also connect Forlì, Florence, Bergamo with destinations in the South and the islands, creating a new model that considers the increasing demand for quick travel at competitive prices. Always faithful to the mission of being an Italian airline of a new concept, where the guest is the absolute protagonist of the journey.
Support for the economy, attention to the environment, and mobility support: all with the courage and foresight of those who know they must contribute to market recovery after the terrible period for the transportation and tourism sectors caused by the pandemic. A bridge launched between North and South, then. But the collaboration project between Parma Airport and EGO Airways does not stop here. Future plans already include increasing frequencies and expanding possible destinations, also considering international connections. In the meantime, the date to remember, as mentioned, is March 28. The Embraer, arriving from Catania, after landing in Parma, will take off toward Bari at 3:15 PM.
