DPCM of January 16: travel rules

A new DPCM has been signed by the Prime Minister and will be in effect until March. Cruises are restarting and museums are reopening. Ski lift restrictions remain. Here's what it entails.

The Prime Minister has signed the new DPCM in effect from January 16 to March 5. Here’s what it entails for those who want to move, travel, or go on vacation.

  • Still restrictions on movement between regions until February 15 (unless extended as often happens)
  • Those arriving from EU countries will not be subject to quarantine but a rapid test will suffice
  • Restrictions on arrivals from Great Britain and Ireland until March 5
  • Cruises with Italian ships can resume
  • Dining is only allowed until 6 pm in yellow regions with a maximum of 4 people per table, while in white regions (hard to reach) dinner reopening is possible
  • Takeaway is banned at bars and venues without a kitchen
  • Ski lifts closed at least until February 15, only cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are allowed
  • Museums open only in yellow regions and only on weekdays. Reservations are mandatory. Exhibitions are prohibited
