Cross-country skiing reopens in Riale in Alta Val Formazza, Piedmont

From Sunday, December 13th, in Riale, in Alta Val Formazza, it will finally be possible to return to cross-country skiing.

Reopens the Riale Cross-Country Ski Center. A fresh start, in full compliance with safety and distancing measures required by anti-Covid regulations, that promises to be fabulous: the heavy snowfalls of recent days have further “reinforced” the snow preserved from last season using the snowfarming technique and that produced by snow cannons, covering the more than 12 km of trails with a sparkling white layer.

Riale Cross-Country Ski Center Opening Hours

From Sunday, December 13 to Thursday, December 17, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It will close on Friday, December 18, Saturday the 19th, and Sunday the 20th to host the highly anticipated stage of the Opa Cup, the European Cross-Country Ski Cup which will see participation from over 250 athletes from across the continent, and will then reopen to the public as usual the following week. The hotel and restaurant facilities in Riale will also resume their activities, with hours and limitations imposed by anti-Covid restrictions.

The hotel restaurant AALTS DORF will make all 20 rooms available to customers, the typical products shop Sapori Walser and its own restaurant specializing in traditional mountain cuisine (restaurant hours: from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., while for hotel guests the kitchen will also be open for dinner. AALTS DORF will be closed on Christmas and Boxing Day, while on New Year’s Eve it will serve the special dinner directly in the rooms).

The same applies to the Locanda Walser Schtuba, which will offer creations by Chef Matteo Sormani from breakfast to aperitif and can accommodate guests wishing to stay overnight in its 6 rooms (bar-restaurant hours: from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., while for hotel guests the kitchen will also be open for dinner).
