The opening date of the ski lift facilities has been eagerly awaited by skiing enthusiasts and industry operators. The news is now official. The Ski slopes will reopen on January 18.
It has been postponed by 11 days the scheduled reopening of the ski slopes, in a year marked not only by coronavirus but also by abundant snowfall, especially across the entire Alps. All the peaks of the Apennines are also snow-covered.
And now it is official. The Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, has signed the ordinance that sets the January 18 as the reopening date for ski facilities in Italy, responding to the requests of the regions which asked for a shift from the initial January 7 (first estimate) and after considering the guidelines from the Technical Scientific Committee.
Obviously, the situation of the workers in the sector remains difficult, but, depending on the spread of Covid-19, they can still hope for part of the season.
