The 2016 BIT Opens, Milan Showcases New Tourism Trends

From February 11 to 13, Fiera Milano will host the BIT, the International Tourism Exchange, which emphasizes luxury and sports.

Reopens its doors the BIT, International Tourism Exchange held at Fiera Milano in Rho from Thursday, February 11, to Saturday, February 13. Space for new tourism trends, sector analyses, and new destinations.

The International Tourism Exchange (also known by the acronym BIT), in the 2016 edition presents several programs:

  • Buy World, with 1500 buyers mostly international (17% Italian and 83% Foreign);
  • Free Matching, pre-registered meetings between exhibitors and operators;
  • Saturday Morning Speedy Meetings, for the first time at BIT, organized by category and macro geographical areas (Saturday morning, specific area);
  • Vip Travel Agencies Program, with about 1000 travel agencies and B2B meetings with The World operators.

At BIT 2016, there are also increasingly popular training moments. The year’s innovation is “Contaminations,” a container of “Business Integration.” The training area is divided into 4 zones, mainly focusing on luxury and sports destinations. In particular:

  • Leisure World;
  • Luxury World;
  • MICE World;
  • Destination Sport.

A new feature in the 2016 edition of BIT is the “Destination Sport” segment, which includes water sports: canyoning, rafting, canoeing, sailing, surfing, waterskiing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, and diving, all classified as “active vacations” aimed at sports enthusiasts seeking thrills. Outdoor activities such as climbing, bouldering, trekking, running, mountain biking, cycling tourism, road cycling, horseback riding, and golf will also be featured.

Finally, on Saturday, February 13, there will be “Run at BIT Fly to Thailand.” It is a 10 km Mini Marathon from San Siro to the gates of the Fair where BIT is held. The initiative is organized with the National Tourism Authority of Thailand and Etihad Airways, as part of the twinning with the Phuket marathon.

VISITORS, PROFESSIONAL OPERATORS, AND PRESS:
Every day from February 11 to 13, 2016, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Free entry for those who pre-register by February 10, noon.
On Saturday, access will be paid.

PUBLIC:
Travelers can access only on Saturday, February 13, 2016, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Online admission card purchase: €5.
Admission card purchase at the fair: €7.
Access to the Luxury area is by invitation.
Pre-registration for the event will not be possible.

SCHOOLS
High schools and university students can access the event only on Saturday, February 13, 2016. The ticket costs €7 if purchased directly at the dedicated reception (Reception South Gate – Service Center). Accompanying teachers (max 2 per class) enter free. It is necessary to send, no later than January 22, 2016, the list of students with the names of the accompanying teachers on the school’s letterhead.
