From October 13 to 15 at the Rimini fair, over two hundred events divided into nine Arenas for the three Italian Exhibition Group shows, which will be opened by the Minister of Tourism. The program of Italy’s most important tourism marketplace includes updates and information for professionals. Focus on women’s employment in the sector, social and environmental sustainability for product strategies, and empathy to communicate with the contemporary traveler.

2021 TTG, SIA, and SUN Edition

TTG, SIA, and SUN 2021 provide all tourism sector operators with trust-building tools, with two hundred events spread across nine arenas over three days. From October 13 to 15, at the Rimini Fair, the three events of Italian Exhibition Group, which constitute Italy’s most important tourism marketplace, will revolve around this year’s main theme, “Be Confident”, based on four pillars: people, nature, future, and life.

TTG, SIA, and SUN Calendar

The TTG, SIA, and SUN calendar begins on October 13 with an Opening Ceremony dedicated to “Projects and innovation in the future of the industry,” featuring speakers such as Giorgio Palmucci, President of ENIT, Fabio Lazzerini, CEO of ITA – Italy Air Transport, Bernabò Bocca, President of Federalberghi, and Massimo Garavaglia, Minister of Tourism. Also scheduled are events organized by ENIT – National Tourism Agency and FAITA FederCamping, focused on current topics and strategic service planning. The highlight of the event is the presentation of the TTG 2022 Vision, providing industry professionals with insights into market movements and trends for the next five years.

The need for transparent relationships between companies and travelers is reflected in data from the Innovation Observatory Digital Tourism at the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano. This need is also expressed through storytelling in words, images, music, and new sounds that voice the emotion of travel, enhanced by the conference-show featuring actor and musician Sergio Muñiz. Focus on women’s employment in Italy’s tourism labor market, conducted by ISNART.

True progress for the travel industry is encapsulated in the harmony between social, cultural, and natural spaces. Innovative transportation and hospitality solutions will be presented and discussed in roundtables and talks at TTG 2021. SISTUR – Italian Society of Tourism Sciences, Legambiente, and Touring Club integrate elements of innovation, accessibility, and sustainability within the tourism sector, aligning them with principles of creativity, trust, and entrepreneurship demanded by companies and travelers for a more mindful tourism that respects places and communities.

Safety

The need for care and safety expressed by travelers is one of the essential factors in the immediate future of tourism planning. Hence, a different approach to travel management and a clearer vision of the relationship between the economic sector and tourism are required, as emphasized by leading industry voices including Confcommercio and ENIT. Furthermore, innovation also looks to the future with Artificial Intelligence, discussed in a conference attended by writer and Vice Director of Corriere della Sera Beppe Severgnini, with neuroscience at the service of web marketing and tourism-hospitality scenarios debated by consultants and landscape philosophers.

Spaces of vacation are a common good to be preserved in their entirety. This entails a different enjoyment of the tourist product, implemented through research by the CNR – National Research Council, initiatives for cultural heritage by FAI – Fondo Ambiente Italiano, and reflections on social and innovative entrepreneurship that highlight territories and new forms of well-being, learning to manage regional resources optimally.

TTG, SIA, and SUN Awards

TTG, SIA, and SUN are the main platforms in Italy for the national and international tourism industry, but they also host several prestigious awards: TTG Star 2021 – Person of the Year TTG, awarded by TTG Italia readers to tourism professionals distinguished throughout the year for managerial skills, initiative, and creativity; Ecotourism Oscar, recognizing sustainable and responsible tourism structures and projects selected by Legambiente; Food Travel Award 2021 awarded by GIST – Italian Travel Journalism Group; Best Beach, now in its sixth edition, honoring the best Italian seaside resorts in 2021; and Italy Digital Destination 2021, awarded to the region with the best reviews from tourists.
