La Cuba, built by William II in 1180, is one of the last architectures of the Norman era.

The construction is a single floor divided into three parts and has no private apartments. Over time it has suffered serious collapses and alterations, following its adaptation first as a lazaretto, and later as a barracks.
The exterior walls are decorated with blind pointed arches. In the lower part, there are some windows separated by small masonry pilasters. The thick walls and few windows are thought to be due to climatic needs, offering greater resistance to the heat of the sun.
