The United States of America is a huge country, making it a diverse destination that has something for everyone. It features cities that everyone knows from movies, such as New York and Las Vegas, beautiful and famous national parks like the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Yosemite, as well as islands and beaches. Although it is currently not possible to travel due to the global crisis caused by Covid-19, it can be nice to dream about possible future trips.

US National Parks

There are 61 national parks in the United States, more than one of which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This alone shows that the country is endowed with wonderful landscapes. In addition to the Grand Canyon, the famous gorge located in the national park of the same name, Yellowstone, and Yosemite, there are also less famous national parks that definitely deserve a visit.

One of these is the Dry Tortugas National Park, a small archipelago of coral islands located 110 kilometers west of Key West in Florida. They represent the westernmost extension of the Florida Keys and the park area is made up of over 99% water. Thanks also to its remote location, the national park has one of the most pristine coral reefs in North America.

Of course, Hawaii is also part of the United States and here is one of the national parks declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO: the Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park. The park, located on the island of Hawaii, was founded in 1916 and shows the result of 30 million years of volcanism. The park provides excellent opportunities for hiking enthusiasts.

In the state of Maine is the Acadia National Park, which preserves about half of Mount Desert Island (the largest island on the coast of Maine), many adjacent smaller islands, and part of the Schoodic Peninsula. The park hosts many different animal species thanks to the wide variety of natural habitats.

Beautiful beaches in the United States

It will come as no surprise that some of the most beautiful beaches in the USA are located in Hawaii. Travelers flock to Maui, for example, for its abundance of wonderful beaches, among which Kaanapali Beach is one of the most popular. The geologically oldest island of Hawaii, Kauai, also offers brilliant sunsets, pristine beaches, and aquamarine skies. Other popular and famous beaches can be found in the state of Florida. In Florida, you can relax, for example, on Sanibel Island, known for its shell-filled beaches. Florida is also home to the famous Miami Beach. Another well-known beach is Santa Monica Beach in California, where many tourists rest after driving the famous Route 66.

Requesting a Travel Authorization for the USA

Anyone wishing to travel to the United States of America once traveling is possible again must request a travel authorization before departure. All Italian travelers are required to have a visa or an ESTA USA. The ESTA USA is a travel authorization that allows travelers who meet all the requirements to travel to the United States without a visa. The ESTA is easier, faster, and cheaper to apply for than the US visa and is valid for two years, which is why it can already be requested for a future trip, when the travel restrictions related to Coronavirus have been lifted.
