Interesting and very convenient is the last minute service of Free and Easy Vouchers, with about 300 properties (hotels, lodges, b&b…), bookable from 72 to 24 hours before arrival, offering savings of about half the official price. As with all last-minute deals, vouchers must be booked and paid for in advance.
But the type of accommodation that most allows you to meet local people are the b&b or the guest-houses and guest-lodges, run directly by the owners, whose prices vary depending on location, type of house, and level of service (of all, the cheapest are definitely the b&b).
