A good starting point for a short tour can be Stratford-on-Avon, home of William Shakespeare, nestled on the banks of its river and popular due to no less than 5 houses linked to the great writer and playwright, the Holy Trinity Church, one of the most beautiful churches in England, where his mortal remains rest, and the two theaters of the Royal Shakespeare Company, the largest classical theater company, which performs Shakespearean works all year round.

In Stratford, a boat trip on the River Avon is also pleasant, as is a tour on the open-top buses, a visit to the most elegant historic homes, or to some of the most spectacular gardens in the United Kingdom.

Another key stop in the English heartland is Coventry, a city full of myths and legends, such as those of Saint George, who slew the dragon, and Lady Godiva. Do not miss the fabulous palaces, like the medieval St. Mary’s town hall or the Fords and Bonds Hospitals for the poor, to the more modern Priory Gardens and Garden of International Friendship. Also worth seeing is Birmingham, a dynamic business city and lively cultural hub, packed with shops, theaters (famous are the Birmingham Royal Ballet and the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra), restaurants, nightlife venues, as well as events and fairs that keep it buzzing throughout the year.
