As with many major European cities, Berlin offers a special card for visitors, letting you skip the lines and enjoy discounts at top attractions.

Berlin Welcome Card

The “Berlin Welcome Card” comes in several options, based on how long you’re staying and what you want to see.
Every card version includes unlimited access to all public transport, a map of Berlin and Potsdam, a transport network map, and a practical guide with tips and a quick overview of what’s included in your pass—discounts in restaurants, museums, shops, and more.

If you’re in Berlin just for the weekend, the 48-hour Berlin Welcome Card is your best bet. For €18.50, you get travel in the AB fare zone, including Tegel Airport (but not Schönefeld).
The 72-hour Berlin Welcome Card (€24.50) and the 5-day Berlin Welcome Card (€31.50) work the same way.

If you plan to visit Potsdam, just outside Berlin, there are specific cards for that: “Berlin + Potsdam 48-hour” (€20.50), “Berlin + Potsdam 72-hour” (€26.50), and “Berlin + Potsdam 5-day” (€36.50).

There’s also a special Berlin Welcome Card perfect for culture lovers: the “Berlin WelcomeCard Museum Island“. This version is ideal if you want to visit Berlin’s world-famous museums on Museum Island.
There are two types: “Berlin WelcomeCard Museum Island AB” and “Berlin WelcomeCard Museum Island ABC“.

The AB version costs €34, the ABC card is €36. The only difference is the ABC card includes public transport for all three zones (including both Schönefeld and Tegel airports), while the AB version only covers zones AB and Tegel airport.
You can buy any of these cards online in advance via visitberlin.de.

You can also purchase a Berlin Welcome Card right at the airport—just note that payment at the airport is cash only. The cards are also available at Berlin Tourist Info offices, at many local hotels, and at transport company ticket counters (BVG and S-Bahn Berlin).
