It was born from the desire to collect and organize the vast variety of ancient roses existing worldwide, to make them known to an increasingly broad audience, thus providing a useful tool to reconstruct the history of this extraordinary flower. The garden displays species roses, that is, the original ancestors, along with hybrids created by natural mutations and human interventions. The current path, which unfolds through a wide valley featuring an artificial pond, gathers as many as 2400 roses of 857 species from various places of origin: Europe, Japan, the Middle East, the Far East, China, and America. The exhibition is structured according to a division of the plants into subsections and belonging groups following a historical and chronological criterion.
