New itineraries for MSC Cruises related to summer 2021: Mediterranean and Northern Europe for a broader restart in safety.
MSC Cruises reposition their ships on routes in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe for summer 2021. After a very difficult year for the entire tourism sector, although cruises managed to set sail (in a very limited version), now the MSC Cruises catalog resumes color (and hope).
Below is the complete list of confirmed MSC Cruises itineraries that can now be booked for this summer.
Summary
MSC Cruises: Western Mediterranean, with stops in Italy and Malta
MSC Grandiosa will continue to offer its current 7-night itinerary with calls at Italian ports such as Genoa, Civitavecchia, Naples, Palermo, and La Valletta (Malta). Spanish ports of Valencia and Barcelona will be added to the current itinerary as soon as these destinations confirm their availability.
MSC Seaside will resume sailing on May 1st from Genoa with stops in Siracusa and Taranto (completely new to MSC Cruises), as well as Civitavecchia and La Valletta in Malta. The ship’s itinerary will then be enhanced with calls at the French port of Marseille as soon as its availability is confirmed.
The itineraries of MSC Grandiosa and MSC Seaside will be available until the end of July 2021, when MSC Seashore joins the fleet.
MSC Seashore will join the MSC Cruises fleet at the end of July and become the company’s new flagship. From August 1 to October 31, it will offer 7-night cruises with stops in Italian ports such as Genoa, Naples, and Messina, as well as La Valletta in Malta, Barcelona in Spain, and Marseille in France.
MSC Cruises: Eastern Mediterranean, with stops in Italy, Greece, Croatia, and Montenegro
MSC Cruises will deploy three ships for the upcoming summer season in this popular tourist area, offering a series of itineraries departing from Trieste, Venice, and Bari, with stops at Piraeus (Athens) and some of the most beautiful Greek islands, Kotor (Montenegro), Dubrovnik, and Spalato (Croatia).
MSC Orchestra will depart on June 5th, embarking from Italian ports of Venice on Saturday and Bari on Sunday, then calling at Greek islands of Corfu and Mykonos, and Dubrovnik (Croatia).
MSC Splendida will start sailing from June 12th with embarkation from Trieste on Saturday and Bari on Tuesday, stopping at Dubrovnik (Croatia), Corfu (Greece), and Kotor (Montenegro).
Completing the offer in the Eastern Mediterranean is MSC Magnifica, which from June 20th will embark from Italian ports of Venice on Sunday, Bari on Monday, and Piraeus for Athens on Wednesday, then calling at the Greek island of Mykonos and Spalato (Croatia).
MSC Cruises: Northern Europe
National cruises in the United Kingdom
Starting May 20th, the flagship of the line MSC Virtuosa will hold its inaugural season in the UK offering mini-cruises from Southampton with calls at Portland in Dorset, on the so-called “Jurassic coast”. From June 12th, it will cruise 7 nights from Southampton with embarkation at Liverpool, Greenock for Glasgow, and calls at Portland and Belfast. These cruises are intended for UK residents only. Cruises are open to both vaccinated and non-vaccinated guests, and all guests will undergo testing prior to boarding.
Germany, Northern Europe
In Germany, considering the current uncertainty regarding the reopening timelines of local ports, MSC Cruises ships will need to delay the start of their summer season outside the country’s ports until June 15th.
At the same time, MSC Cruises announced today that it has scheduled MSC Seaview to be based in Kiel (Germany) starting June 19th, replacing MSC Virtuosa. Additionally, itineraries for MSC Preziosa will commence from June 21st from Hamburg (Germany), and MSC Musica from June 20th from Warnemunde (Germany), if access to German ports is possible.
The three ships are scheduled to offer cruises of 7 nights or longer with itineraries towards Norwegian fjords or Baltic capitals, as per the current schedule. Guests will have the opportunity to reschedule their vacation on one of the announced itineraries, which are similar or identical to those originally booked. Flexible booking conditions will apply to all reservations made before May 31st.
