Lugano also hosts the 19th edition of the Swiss International Vacation Fair iViaggiatori which will be held from October 29 to November 1, 2022, at the city's Exhibition Center.
The Fair is the fixed event for all travel and culture enthusiasts, eager to spend a day dedicated to the most awaited moment of the year, the choice of their holidays.
For the 2022 edition, the event will take place simultaneously with artecasa Lugano, the traditional Ticino trade fair pavilion, and with the new Ticino Sposi event, an area dedicated to those looking for ideas and suggestions for their special day. Therefore, a single entry ticket (a 50% discount is available on www.iviaggiatori.org) for three events that will satisfy visitors.
Once again, iViaggiatori offers a varied and wide selection of over 100 international destinations, ranging from the most well-known places to innovative proposals, from traditional tourism to the most innovative offers.
In particular, we can discover the innovative tourist offers of important art cities like Genoa, Bologna, and Parma, small charming villages between Piedmont and Lombardy, dream destinations like Seychelles, along with abundant beaches and mountain landscapes for the upcoming winter season. Additionally, there will be numerous fascinating destinations such as safaris in Africa, Nepal, and the Andes with breathtaking mountains, and unusual places to explore like Bangladesh.
Many innovative themes for holidays as well: from traditional ones like wellness, golf, and enogastronomy to modern ones like sustainability, eco-friendliness, and slow tourism. So much, truly too much to tell: it’s easier to discover it among the Pavilions at the Lugano Convention Center.
During the event, the 2022 winners of the Swiss Tourism Awards will be announced, prestigious recognitions given to destinations that demonstrate excellence in different segments of the tourism industry through their commitment. Created to discover destinations with a strong tourist vocation, the awards celebrate locations that promote new forms of sustainable and alternative tourism, enhancing their traditions in harmony with the territory.
Also this year, enogastronomic tourism confirms to be an added value of holidays, and to satisfy passionate visitors for whom the search for flavors and authentic traditions is the main reason for traveling, during the entire event, free tastings of wines and typical products will be held to discover flavors and traditions, beginning the journey with taste!
As usual, this year too, the highly anticipated contest “Come and Win” returns. Every day, at 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM, the first 100 visitors can draw 100 envelopes containing wonderful prizes such as gadgets, holiday vouchers, and discount vouchers.
