The Sport Cruise by Going and La Pelle Azzurra sets new autumn dates: the cruise with mental coaches and Olympic and Paralympic athletes departs on October 25th from Genoa onboard MSC Fantasia to head towards Spain and return on October 30, 2023.

Six days and five nights of mindset training to get to know oneself, achieve the maximum from one’s abilities, learning that a winning athlete, whatever their level, relies not only on physical preparation and proper metabolism but also on mind, emotions, and soft skills. “These skills account for 40% to 85% of the final result of a competition,” explains Sara Haeuptli, co-founder of the non-profit La Pelle Azzurra and relational counselor and professional coach: “Emotion management, as well as mental preparation for competition, make up three-quarters of the work”.

This program is part of the Going4Cruise line of products, Sport Cruise is a themed cruise aimed at those wishing to improve their approach to goal achievement in sports, professional, amateur, and competitive contexts, as well as managerial and academic pursuits.

Indeed, this format in the upcoming October departure has attracted interest from some companies for team building purposes.

The program includes participation from a wide list of professional athletes involved in classroom lessons. For example, Katia Aire, a fifty-year-old Paralympic swimmer and handbike athlete, bronze medalist at Tokyo 2020: “When talking about sports performance, one tends to think of purely physical performance,” she explains; “however, body, mind, and emotions are interconnected to such an extent that they can accelerate results or become insurmountable obstacles. We will learn to use them to our advantage.”.

Overall, the classroom training will span two days: October 26 and 29, plus the full evening immersion on departure day (October 25). During Edutainment Night, the participants’ reflective energy will be ignited. Explains Alessandro Melchionna, also co-founder of La Pelle Azzurra, bringing expertise in training within quality systems models and customer satisfaction analysis and evaluation: “The engine of every project is emotion, and having a dream is a powerful propeller: we will start from there to let desires settle and then define how to fulfill them during classroom sessions, thus seizing the dream”. For Going, the Sport Cruise represents a project aligned with the strategy to enrich content for every trip in their carnet of knowledge “adventures”.
